CHEM 142 BA: General Chemistry

For science and engineering majors. Atomic nature of matter, quantum mechanics, ionic and covalent bonding, molecular geometry, stoichiometry, solution stoichiometry, kinetics, and gas laws. Includes laboratory. No more than 6 credits from the following may count toward graduation requirements: CHEM 120, CHEM 142, CHEM 143, CHEM 145. Prerequisite: either a minimum grade of 1.7 in CHEM 110, a passing score in the General Chemistry Placement exam, or a minimum score of 1 on the Chemistry AP exam; recommended: MATH 120 or MATH 124.
