Bernard Malofsky (Ph.D. 1964) holds many patents, still works full time, and loves it. He worked on the development of Dermabond surgical adhesive.

1990s
Mary Lou Brandes (M.S. 1994) moved to Washington, DC and is seeking a position in the chemical field.
Elvis Chan (B.S. 1993) received his M.A. in Homeland Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California in September 2021. He was awarded the Curtis H. "Butch" Straub Achievement Award as the student in his graduate class who demonstrated the most outstanding leadership and exemplary academic performance. Elvis is currently the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of FBI San Francisco's Cyber Branch, where he oversees the office's computer intrusion investigations, digital forensics laboratory, technical operations, and private sector engagement program.
Joseph Ho (B.S. 1996) retired from clinical practice as a cerebrovascular/endovascular neurosurgeon and medical director of the endovascular, stroke and neurocritical care programs at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. Joseph now teaches part time at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA.
2000s
Eileen Faucher (PhD, 2007) founded her business Brass Tacks Health in 2017 to provide competitive intelligence consulting services to biotech and pharma companies. After a PhD from UW Chemistry and postdoc at Columbia University, she joined the marketing planning team at Dendreon, eventually going on to start her own immuno-oncology-focused firm. Eileen enjoys identifying early trends in cancer drug development and translating the impact of those developments into actionable guidance for her clients. Eileen benefited greatly from the mentorship provided by Prof. Martin Gouterman, who encouraged her to show up as herself and persevere throughout her unconventional educational journey and career path. She strongly believes in the value of including more diversity of backgrounds and perspectives among stakeholders in cancer research and drug development. Eileen is a member of the Washington Board of Advisors for the American Cancer Society, as well as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). She lives in Phinney Ridge with her husband, teenagers, and terriers.
2010s
Tai Nguyen (B.S. 2016) started his fourth year of the Ph.D. program at University of Southern California with Prof. Chao Zhang doing chemical biology and organic synthesis. Tai's research focuses on discovering kinases covalent inhibitors and small molecules to control stem cell differentiation.
Jenny Stein (Ph.D. 2018) started a new role as Journal Manager at AIP Publishing. She manages The Journal of Chemical Physics and APL Photonics and is lucky enough to see lots of familiar names from UW Chemistry in her day to day!
2020s
John Day (B.S. 2020) is pursuing the PhD in bioengineering at MIT with Laurie Boyer, professor of biology and biological engineering, focusing on expansion microscopy and chromatin structure.
