Assistant Teaching Professor in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Washington (UW-Seattle) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, Assistant Teaching Professor, to start no earlier than September 2024. The initial appointment for this position spans three years, with the potential for renewal. This position is eligible for promotion to Associate Teaching Professor and Teaching Professor. Teaching track positions at UW are not tenure-eligible.

Applicants must have earned a doctorate, or foreign equivalent, in the chemical sciences or a related field by the date of appointment.

  • 200-word statement summarizing your experience and accomplishments teaching chemistry (e.g, type and level of courses taught, size of courses taught)
  • 200-word statement describing how your teaching will broaden access and inclusion in chemistry courses
  • A current CV detailing your education, teaching experiences, research background, and service
  • A 5-7 min video sample of your teaching, submitted via a publicly available link
  • Three letters of recommendation submitted through Interfolio by the writers
