Munira Khalil
Our department chair, Professor Munira Khalil, has been selected for the highest leadership honor at the University of Washington: the David B. Thorud Leadership Award.
On June 12, 2025, President Ana Mari Cauce presented Munira with a medal at the Awards of Excellence ceremony.
Khalil’s nomination, led by Divisional Dean for Natural Sciences Daniel Pollack, summarizes how she “exemplifies the core values that underlie this prestigious award.”
