Congratulations to Emily Miura-Stempel, who defended her Ph.D. work titled “Defect Engineering in Cerium Oxide Nanocrystals: From Catalyst to Quantum Bit” on May 6, 2026. Emily was a student in Professor Brandi Cossairt’s research group and worked on cerium oxide nanocrystal synthesis and applications at UW. She has accepted a position with Applied Materials as a Process Engineer as her next steps.
