Grace Wang selected for the 2019 Friends of Chemistry Award

Congratulations to Grace Wang who has been awarded the 2019 Friends of Chemistry Award!

Grace was selected for this award based her excellent academic record, research, and community outreach.

The department is grateful to alumnus Dr. James Mhyre for his donation to the Friends of Chemistry Fund that supports talented students like Grace.

Grace  is a junior majoring in biochemistry and plans to pursue a career in pediatric medicine. She is conducting a clinical study with Assistant Professor Arti Desai at Seattle Children’s Research Institute to develop a cloud-based care plan and collaborative management model that enhances family-centered care for medically complex children. Grace is an executive board member of Synapse, a student-led traumatic brain injury support group, and the art director of Grey Matters, UW’s undergraduate neuroscience journal. She was also selected as the UW’s 2016-17 Freshman Medalist.

Congratulations, Grace!
