Anika McManamen awarded the University of Washington Graduate School’s 2022 Distinguished Thesis Award

Congratulations to Anika McManamen, MSACST class of 2022!

Her thesis, “Capillary flow characterization and application in saliva sampling” from her work with Professor Ashleigh Theberge's group, has been chosen to receive the University of Washington Graduate School’s 2022 Distinguished Thesis Award (category: Mathematics; Physical Sciences and Engineering). She will receive an honorarium of $1,000 and will be publicly recognized by the Graduate School!

Anika is now starting her PhD at Columbia in Bioengineering, where she has been named a Columbia University Blavatnik Presidential Fellow. As stated in the award letter, this is the "most prestigious and distinguished fellowship awarded by Columbia Engineering". We look forward to following Anika's scientific career!
