Congratulations to Emily Cliff, who defended her Ph.D. work “CRISPR-Cas Tools for Engineering Genome Structure and Gene Expression” on May 26, 2023. Emily was a student in Professor Jesse Zalatan’s research group where she developed CRISPR-based tools to study the impact of 3D genome structure on gene expression and developed a system of genetic logic gates in yeast. She plans to take the summer to travel before pursuing an industry position in biotech.
