Dr. Bhawna Chaubey was born in Varanasi, India , that is claimed to be one of the oldest living city of the World.  Even coming from the city on the bank of Ganges river, which is rich in spirituality, culture, and traditions of pilgrimage, she discovered her interest in modern science during her mid school. Following her research thirst, she obtained her Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and spectroscopy from IIT Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India under the supervision of Dr. Samanwita Pal.  During doctoral studies, Dr. Chaubey acquired specialized research skills in various aspects of modern NMR methods and spectroscopy . Her published research work has involved in-depth NMR experimental measurements, and interpretation of molecular interactions in solute-solvent, host -guest and Ligand-Protein systems. For postdoctoral research, Dr. Chaubey joined Prof. Gabriele Varani lab at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA. Her current research project focuses on 3D structure determination of RNA and RNA-small molecule complexes using multidimensional NMR spectroscopy and SAXS.
