Surplus Property
By law, all unwanted University property must be surplused, regardless of condition. Some items may need to follow special procedures before they can come to UW Surplus.
Please review information about Surplus here.
Surplus Computers and Lab/Office Equipment
Please see the Facilities Manager in the Machine Shop (BAG 82 x3-1616) for information on disposal of surplus computers and lab and office equipment. Items surplused must be processed through the Facilities Manager and Surplus Property and placed in marked areas on the Bagley loading dock.
What Can be Surplused?
With a few exceptions, most items can be surplused, even if broken. All items used in labs must be decontaminated thoroughly regardless if it came in contact with hazardous materials. The decontamination form can be found at the EH&S website. Lab equipment that is surplused must have this form and be signed by the Lab's PI or Departmental Administrator/Director.
For further information on how to prepare items for surplus, refer to UW Surplus here.
